Owen had his 2 month wellness check-up today.

Here are his current stats:

Weight: 10 lbs 12 oz (50%)

Height:  23 inches (50%)

Head: 39 cm (50%)

So he is a very healthy proportional kid.  The Doctor said he was doing great and couldn’t believe he was sleeping through the night.  For those of you that don’t know Owen has been sleeping through the night pretty much since he was released from the hospital.  Lately he has been sleeping from about 10:00pm to 7:00am.  I don’t know what we did to deserve such a good sleeper but hey I’ll take it!  Owen got his first round of immunizations today and he did great.  Hopefully the next day goes as well as the actual shots did.

Some of Owen’s other accomplishments have been showing emotions, he smiles all the time and has started laughing a little bit.  He also talks to us when we talk to him.  It takes his whole body to get the little sounds out but he loves it when he hears his voice.  He also really likes to hold people’s hands.  When he is upset or needs comfort if you let him hold your finger he calms right down (usually).  He loves the feel of his soft blankets against his cheeks.  If he is getting sleepy or needs comfort if I put his blanket over him and put a corner on his cheek he snuggles right into it and calms down.  Also he loves to stand up.  The Doctor was surprised when we told her that because he is so young.  But he loves to stand up and sit down.  I think he likes it so much because he can look around and see what’s going on.

Everyone keeps asking me how I’m liking staying home with Owen.  It has been a real adjustment staying home and not going to work.  I miss my friends at work so much and the adult interaction.  However, I love being Owen’s Mom.  I feel bad for those of my friends that want to stay home with their kids and can’t.  So even though it’s been an adjustment staying home I am grateful that I have the opportunity to do so.

Bernd continues to be the cutest, best Dad ever.

Oh my goodness . . . he is so freakin’ cute!  It’s amazing what 2 months can do to make them grow out of the newborn, infant stage.  Lucky you to be sleeping through the night!  Miss you…

Jodi, he soooooo cute. When do I get to see him? I think you should come to your mom’s card class so I can see him? He is darling and I’m sure you and Bernd are the best parents.

JODI!  I found your blog through Jana’s blog, and I’m glad I did because I finally got to see some pictures of Owen.  What a handsome little man!  I can’t believe it’s been 5 months since I’ve seen you.  We need to plan a work reunion or something because I miss you all and I don’t want the next time I see everyone to be at my “farewell” (which I hope you’re coming to).  Maybe we can crash an MM party or something.  Glad to hear you’re enjoying being a mom!  I’m sure you’re great at it.  Let me know if you ever need a babysitter because I have a lot of downtime these days :)
