We finally finished replacing all of the appliances in the kitchen! At first we replaced the stove, it was so gross we tried cleaning it but decided it wasn’t even worth it. Next was the dishwasher, it was noisy, didn’t clean very well and was also dirty. Soon after the dishwasher we found a sweet deal on a fridge and replaced the old white midget fridge with something that actually keeps food fresh without adding mysterious odors.

The last thing to replace was the microwave above the stove. The one we had worked alright but was dirty and it didn’t match since it was white and everything else was stainless steel. The bottom of the microwave was completed gunked up with grease and we’ve tried to clean it several times but never made much progress. While we were removing it our hands got disgusting! We replaced it with a Frigidaire PLMVZ169GC that we purchased from Best Buy. Now all the appliances are newer, nicer and contain only our dirt! The original ones were all so gross!

The sales person at Best Buy tried to get us to purchase the install service along with it for about $100 but Jodi and I decided we would be adventurous and do it ourselves. He tried to warn me that he installed one once and it took all weekend and 4 people. It ended up being pretty easy for us, the only reason we didn’t get it installed the same day we bought it was because we painted the wall after we took the old one down since the new one didn’t quite go down as low so we had to let that dry overnight.

Jodi and I have been looking at getting a new tv for a few weeks now, we decided that’s what we wanted to get for a Christmas present for ourselves. Our main tv was a Sony Trinitron that I bought a few years ago which worked pretty well, but wasn’t too big and didn’t do high definition, which is getting more popular. We also wanted one that we could mount on our wall above our fireplace to free up some space in our living room. We decided we wanted to get a Sony LCD 40?. Sony makes good televisions and we really like the look of the XBR line with the glass border around the television. We did some research and decided to get the Bravia XBR4 40″. We did all the research online that we could to make sure this was the tv that we wanted to buy and decided to stop in at Best Buy and see what it really looked like. After seeing it we were still set on that being the one that we wanted and we were talking with an employee there about it and he mentioned that it was on sale till the next day. This got us thinking and we decided to go ahead and get it now since it was on sale. We put it on a Best Buy credit card for 0% interest but we’ll still pay it off before the end of the year. This isn’t something we usually do and not a habit we want to get in to, but we did it this time because it was cheaper than normal so hopefully saved us some money even if we would have waited.

For now we just have it where our old tv was and we took the old tv up to our bedroom. The new tv is a ton lighter than our old one even though it was 13? more screen space! The picture on it is very nice, very bright and clear, we really like it! We don’t have anything that can do an HD quality picture, so we haven’t really seen it work the best it can yet, but one day we’ll get something that does HD. Now I just need to get wires going through the wall and get it mounted above the fireplace, I’m sure that will happen within the next couple of months.
